Bajiaozhai Scenic Area is located in the south of Langshan Scenic Area. It is named after the main peak that extends diagonally at eight angles. The main peak of Bajiaozhai stands out from the crowd. It is a typical Danxia square mountain with an altitude of 818 meters and a scenic area of 7.17 square kilometers. It is the highest point of Langshan Scenic Area. There are three cliffs on the west, south and north sides, and only the southeast side has winding paths to climb. When you climb to the top of the mountain and look to the west, you will see towering peaks, criss-crossing valleys, rich shapes, and myriad phenomena. When it's sunny, the blue sky, white clouds, green trees, and red cliffs merge into one, forming a magnificent natural picture. ； During the fog, the peaks and mountains are surging and the sea of clouds is misty, just like a thousand whales making waves in the sea. On the top of the mountain is the Yuntai Temple, which was built in the Northern Song Dynasty. It enshrines the statues of Yang Zaixing and other famous local anti-gold generals, and has been popular for thousands of years.

The Bajiaozhai Scenic Area is characterized by the dense dome-shaped Danxia peak forest landform. It is praised by domestic and foreign scholars as "an outstanding representative of the prime Danxia peak forest landform" and "a model place for the main types and basic characteristics of China's Danxia landform." In the scenic area, there are "whales making waves in the sea", "groups of snails watching the sky", "divine ax subduing dragons", "dragon head divine incense", "immortals playing chess", "opening in the middle of the Tianmen" and other scenic spots. Academician Chen Guoda, an expert on Danxia landforms and namer, praised it as "the soul of Danxia, a national treasure".”
